The purchase agreement between Schwenk Zement International GmbH and RWCo GmbH regarding shares in Schwenk Namibia (PTY) Ltd has been cancelled. IKN is currently upgrading the existing kiln at Schwenk Zement’ s Allmendingen cement works in Germany. Thomas Gruppe has confirmed the acquisition of Opterra Zement GmbH and Opterra Beton GmbH (east Germany), which have been owned by CRH Plc since 2015 as part of the pre-merger bulk acquisition of certain Lafarge and Holcim assets.  CIC-Market Solutions estimates Opterra's cement sales to be close to EUR110m. Schwenk to increase stake in Akmenės Cementas

Germany’s Schwenk has received approval to increase its stake in Lithuania's only cement manufacturer, Akmenės Cementas. It was already the majority shareholder at 50.42 per cent but is now set to increase this to 96.98 per cent. Schwenk Zement Beteiligungen will also acquire 75.41 per cent of Kalcitas, a limestone and clay producer, and 100 per cent of Cemeka and Lanku Bokstai.
